From the Director, Kaitlin A. Kerr-Heidenreich: "Nothing is but what is not." - This production will focus on the themes and questions of the nature of our reality (What is real? How do we know? Are there degrees of reality?) and how, when all else is stripped away, the true nature of these characters can be revealed to themselves and to others. This production will also incorporate the concept, both technically and textually, of echoes, and well as the "uncanny" or "macabre" being what pulls us in and unnerves us...much more than simple "horror." Furthermore, we always have a choice, although the choice that benefits self may also cost us our own humanity.

"Brutal actions have brutal consequences. The political and natural world is broken and the Macbeths seize this opportunity to rise through the ranks and control their destiny. But their ambitions unravel into a living nightmare in a world where boundaries are paper thin - between the natural and supernatural, love and hate, joy and despair." - Royal Shakespeare Company
